My blog is in need of an update...

SO MANY things have happened in our lives since I last posted. Halloween, major surgery(for me at least), my sister came and stayed over for a couple of days(this never happens) and the boys having their birthdays(Ashley made the cake), I made a skirt for Sugar(YES this is a big deal) and the Miley Cyrus concert! These things may not have happened in this order but it still made for a busy month.

Sky View Vistauns kids camp

Sky View high school Vistauns puts on a clinic every year for kids preschool age to 9th grade. Sugar went last year with Ashley, but this year she went by herself. I always have a hard time leaving her(especially when she got lost at the fair). She loves to dance and she had a great time, especially when she found out they were dancing to Hannah Montana songs.

Utah State Fair

Well the Peach Days thing did not happen. The lambs had to be sheared and someone had to do it. Well Clint, Jason and I sheared. The kids had a great time playing even though they were supposed to help. The lambs look great and they are ready for the fair(I hope).
We are praying that they at least sell. We could use some of your prayers too. I am not sure if I need anymore stress right now. This has been a fun but super busy year. The kids are getting so excited for the fair. Ashley is going today with the FFA. She loves being in FFA. I hope that my kids are able to do things like this with thier kids when they are old enough. I wish I had these kind of opportunities when I was younger but who knows if I would have the same feelings about it now. I love working with my kids. It makes me so happy. I hate the stress it brings on but in the end I am so proud of what I see them accomplish. Spencers lamb is about 150 pounds and this little guy only weighs about 70 pounds if that. He has struggles with him lamb but he smiles and cries and still wants to hang in there. Tanner and his lamb are both about 100 pounds. Why they grew so differently I have no idea. The lambs were all about the same size when we got them, BUT not now. We leave for the State Fair tomorrow night and we will be there for the next three days. Stop by and see us if you can.
This is Ashley and her lamb. She sold this one at the county fair.

End of summer!

The end of summer is coming fast. I love it when the evenings cool down and the leaves change. Sardine canyon is so beautiful in the fall, but it goes fast. One thing I have really enjoyed this summer is yard sale shopping. I have been blog hopping and I have found the cutest websites to find some things to look for as I go yard sale shopping. We also have a couple of antique stores in town and of course the DI. I have learned to love spray paint. My kids say if its not cute give it to mom she will spray paint in and make it cute. I am not a designer and I am living in a house where I can't hang things on the walls, but that doesn't mean I can't buy things for later. One of the things I have loved this year is getting up early Saturday mornings and going out to find a great deal with Clint. He looks for things that are completely different then what I am looking for but we still have fun together. Now that my kids are all in school I spend my 3 hours alone checking out different blogs. I love the technology that we have. If I didn't have the internet I think I would be so bored or my house would definately be cleaner. I was just thinking this morning that I need to get myself into a better routine because time flys when your having fun. I hope everyone has had a great summer. I am taking one(or two) more outings this year and I can't wait. I have never been to Peach days in Brigham city so this year we are going. I canned peaches two years ago and I am in need of some more, so hopefully we can bring a couple of boxes home and I can teach Ashley how to can them this year. We also have the State fair on the 17th, So if anyone wants to stop by and see us we will be there until the 19th. This is the end of our summer playing. Now my kids have to get back into thier piano, school work and just hanging out with me. FUN

KINDERGARTEN...

Woo hoo. My baby is in kindergarten and my oldest started high school. The boys are in Jr. high and elementary, but as for now all my kids go to different schools. WoW.
I had a hard time sending Sugar to school yesterday but I survived and so did she. I was expecting them to call me and tell me to come get her because she wouldn't stop crying, but they didn't. When I went to pick her up she was all smiles and she had had a GREAT time. She was really worried so we told her it was like preschool. Well she said " MOM, it was funner than preschool!" (sorry mrs. lamb).

A quote for today.

"Remember when you go into the world to keep your eyes and ears wide open. And be kind. Love one another. Take care of each other. Tell the truth. Always do your best. Listen to the big people and the little people.Explore new paths and have fun. Know that you are loved like crazy. Give thanks for all your blessings. Above all else, love and you will do wonderful things in this world." - Rebecca Puig

I saw this quote on another blog and I felt like sharing it on my blog. I have had some tough things to have to go through lately and I needed a boost. So when I read this I thought of my kids and how they are growing in many aspects of thier lives.
If there is anything else in life I could share with my kids it would be this quote. We have a little saying at our house..."Grandma says try new things" is often said when my kids say "can't."

Ashley is growing up so fast and I am so not ready for her to be her own person. She is such a great person and a wonderful friend. I am so proud of the young lady she has become. She may never read this because she is more involved with facebook than my silly blog. So I post this for myself and for any of you you read this.

Funny

Sometimes we say that kids say the darndest things. WELL.... Yesterday Sugar came home and told me she had a fun time at Tylers(our neighbor) and needed some lunch and then she was headed back out to play again. As I was making her lunch I could see that Tylers dad was home and I said "Tylers dad is home so maybe you should stay home" Now I don't have anything against Tylers day I just thought that maybe they could have plans. So anyways Sugar gets this silly look on her face and said "I like Tylers dad, but he always asks me where Spice is."
I know she had no idea what he was talking about so I said," You should tell him she is with Everything nice. She did not want to say that but I got a kick out of what he said to her and later in her life she will get it and laugh about it like I did.

Just so you know I, for some reason, like to make a short story long! ;)

Twilight Obsession

Okay, I have not only neglected updating my blog but my life as well. I started reading the Twilight series. Oh, man am I in trouble. I have seen the Twilight movie so I thought maybe I should read the next book so I would not sit in the theater nudging Ashley and asking her all sorts of questions. So I started reading New Moon and I finished and then I started reading Breaking Dawn. I was a little confused so I decided to ask Ash what the next book should be and she said it is Eclipse...Okay not so confused anymore. I had to put it down so I could take my kids to where they needed to be at the time. I get so angry and so happy and so frustrated all at the same time. (stupid book). Well actually its really good. So now I need to go find a quiet place to get reading today. My brain can only do one thing at a time and when the kids are around I tend to listen to them instead of concentrating on my book.

Annual Lobster boil

Well its that time of year for our annual lobster boil. Clint's sister lives in Maine and for the past 3 years that she has come to visit for the summer she has brought with her the most delicious treat. LOBSTERS! Last year a few of them died and this year they all survived long enough for us to cook em' and eat em'. She also brought Lindt chocolate truffles from Maine. It also happened to be mine and Clint's 17th wedding anniversary. Whew, I can't believe it. I don't feel like it has been that long. It was a fun day and the sun was around long enough for us to enjoy the day and then it was gone the next day.
This is Guss(Clints nephew) making the lobster dance.

We like to play with our food before we eat it.

Into the pot they go.

Ogden Dinosaur Park & Train station

Saturday we went to the dinosaur museum in Ogden. We tried to go to the train station but the line to see the Disney movie train exhibit had a 3 hour wait so we found something better to do. Sugar found this worm hanging from a string and felt the need to take it home. After a few little tears we decided to not put it in her pocket and leave it there.

Here are the pictures we did manage to take at the Ogden train station.

Jeepin'

Clint was home alone with the boys last week while the girls were in St. George and I was at my sisters. They got the jeep going and they had so much fun. They took us all for a ride when we all got back. Spencer is a good driver going forward and Tanner is terrible at backing up but he will have plenty of time to practice this summer. Ashley got the hang of a stick shift and found out how hard it is to drive without power steering.
This jeep has been in our family for about 17 years Clint bought it when we were first married and it has been just sitting around. I really think it is an eyesore and I wish he would get rid of it, Until I saw how much fun the kids had and what big smiles they all had. Ashley and I are going to try to make some seat covers to cover up the big rips. I even got to drive and the windows are so dirty that I had to have Spencer help me back it up.

This is the flooding from the storm we had yesterday. The hail and the rain and the wind and the lightning and thunder. It was all very noisy and very exciting. I had just finished mowing the front lawn and I had just taken the grass to the recycle place and then all "hail" broke loose. We were all so shocked and amazed. Ashley and Tanner were at mutual cleaning up the cemetery. So you can imagine they were just drenched when they got home.
These are the hailstones.

This is our deck in the back. This all happened probably within 1 hours time.

Beautiful junk

Spencer had a little gallery at school today to show off what the kids made from junk. His is an airplane named spittfire. See all the beautiful junk he used?

Day at the zoo

I took Sugar to the little zoo at Willow park. She is learning the letter Z at school so I thought this would be fun. We call this the bird zoo because there are more birds there than anything else, but it is still enjoyable and very beautiful.

Sugars new bike.

Well its new to her. This is McKenna's previously owned bike. I don't think it had any miles on it but it works for Sugar. She heard on the radio today that Hannah Montana is always riding her bike so GUESS WHAT....Sugar should be putting many miles on this bike in the next few months. We tried to get through on the rick dee's radio program this morning because Hannah Montana was guest hosting and of course we had to try to talk to Hannah Montana.

Easter pictures.

We took this picture on Emilys front steps. Tanner and Madison. This will be their last year to do Herriman's Easter egg hunt. They used to have a late night flashlight egg hunt that included money and great prizes but they did not do that one this year
Spencer and McKenna. They look more related than their own siblings.

And of course here is Brynnlee. She had such a great time and she LOADED her basket FULL!

Wanna go fly a kite?

My boys got the coolest kites for Easter from Sugar and I. We got these at Sam's club.
I did not think we would ever get enough wind to fly these, But we did. This is the open field(soon to be homes) across the street from our house.
